Is it all Doom and Gloom?

I logged onto the web this morning and was greeted by an overwhelming feeling of doom and gloom.

Microsoft to slash 5,000 jobs

Housing starts slump to record lows.  Worst number since they started keeping records in 1959.

New Unemployment Claims match the highest number in the last 28 years.

That's not a very optimistic way to start a day.  And let's be honest, on a macro level things aren't good right now.  This recession is a biggun'.  But it's not all bad news out there...

We're working with a couple/few first time home buyers, who wouldn't have been able to buy a home at last year's prices.  We also have some investor-clients who are looking at our market like it's the opportunity of a decade (and it probably is!)  And I've talked with a few people recently who have found work after being laid off, or who moved here from 'other parts' and didn't have any trouble finding jobs.

Some things are out of our control, I know.  But at some level life is what you make it.  Keep your chin up - we'll get through this.  We always do.

Your gonna keep swingin' Realtor,

Chris Butterworth
