As I wrote about back on August 31, 2007, the Arizona State Land Department had scheduled to auction off a piece of the land to the east of Desert Ridge called Paradise Ridge. Paradise Ridge is a 2,200 acre piece of land situated between the new City North development and Scottsdale. Westcor has been working with the city for the past 10 years on a master plan for the area and therefore was apparently given a first right of refusal in the bidding process. Sound a little bit unfair? Sound like something other than an auction, when one bidder has the right to outbid any other? Thomas J Klutznick Co. says so! As one of the three registered bidder, they've filed a protest on the terms of the auction, causing it to be rescheduled for a later date once all of the issues have been resolved.
