PV School District Feeling the Pains of the Housing Slow Down

The effects of the housing slow down are being felt in the Paradise Valley School District.  The opening of a new school in the Desert Ridge area may have to be delayed.  The rate at which new homes are being built in the area that this school will be servicing has not been as quick as they had originally anticipated.  So if there aren't enough homes/children built the schoold district will delay the opening of the school for another year.  It is currently slated for the 2009-2010 school year.

The new school will be located on a 10 acre piece of property north of Deer Valley Rd., between 56th St. & 64th St.  Toll Brothers and Pulte have developments planned for the area.
