I had planned on writing something really esoteric while comparing Disneyland to Phoenix real estate – something about how the different areas of the park represented different Phoenix suburbs; popular rides were like popular subdivisions, and kid-friendly areas likened to high-ranking school districts. They have brand new rides (new construction), rides that have been revamped and made more current (remodeled homes), and rides that are probably due to be restored or replaced (just like some homes!) There are expensive places to eat, and really expensive places to eat! (which is actually a little different from Phoenix.)
Unfortunately, there really isn't any comparison. I love the Phoenix area, and I'm very happy living here. But there's a reason Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth. This was one of those times where you stop & smell the roses. I hope everyone gets the same opportunity.
