Medieval Times invade the East Valley!

It’s here again! The annual Arizona Renaissance Faire, located just East of Apache Junction and Gold Canyon Ranch. The AZ Renaissance Faire features 8 weekends packed full with Medieval Entertainers, Artisans, Food (remember those Turkey Legs?), as well as the Royal Court, 6-course Pleasure Feast, and the highlight of the show – the Tournament Jousting Arena (the original Super Bowl!)

If you haven’t been out to the Festival yet, you’re missing out! It’s a full-day of fun for everyone, with tons of rides and hands-on crafts for the kids, plus Beer Gardens and raunchy Medieval humor for the adults (yes, a couple of the shows are R rated, but most of them are appropriate and enjoyable for both kids and adults).

It’s even easier to get there now too. I’ve been participating in the Festival for 18 years now, both as an entertainer and a crafter. I remember the days when we used to have to drive through the center of Apache Junction to get there each morning, as US60 did not yet hook up through Mesa. Power Road was as far as you could go. Now, with both the Southern Loop of the 202, as well as US60, it’s a breeze of a drive both there and back. You’ll hit most of your traffic through the town of Gold Canyon, where the two-lane highway doesn’t quite support the 10-20,000 people heading out to the Faire grounds each day.
Hope to see you there!
